About this role

Position Summary

Odyssey has an exciting opportunity for an energized Acquisition Program Specialist who is ready to dive into hands-on program support across the full defense acquisition lifecycle. In this role, you'll work side‑by‑side with program and financial managers to shape smart acquisition strategies, strengthen program plans, and ensure contracting and source‑selection activities hit the mark with federal acquisition guidance. You’ll play a key role in driving disciplined execution for USAF weapons programs supporting planning, budgeting, risk management, configuration control, and high‑value decision support that directly contributes to the warfighter.

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: 

 

  • Develop and manage program plans including risk management processes and practical courses of action that streamline operations and drive schedule, cost, and performance outcomes.
  • Administer contract documentation within the program’s scope: prepare, maintain, and post contracts and modifications; track schedules, funding profiles, and CLIN indexes; monitor contractor production status; project deliverable status; and maintain databases to log and route contractual correspondence.
  • Support draft RFP development by building systems specifications and core acquisition artifacts (e.g., SRD, SOO, SOW, CDRLs) and coordinating other solicitation products.
  • Advise on source-selection activities support simulations, conduct cost–benefit assessments, develop mock proposals, perform RFP risk assessments, prepare and coordinate responses to RFIs, and deliver targeted training modules.
  • Plan and manage configuration baselines (identification, control, status accounting, verification, audits) in alignment with established military/industry guidance.
  • Perform economic and financial analyses obligation/expenditure forecasting; funds management and status; development of automated models and control techniques.
  • Prepare executive-ready briefings and decision support materials that synthesize complex technical and financial information into clear, actionable guidance.

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Secret Clearance with ability to obtain interim TS (may delay onboarding)

Education/Years of Experience: Associates + 15 years Relevant Experience (RE) or Bachelors + 10 years RE or Masters + 7 years RE

Certifications: APDP Program Management Level II

 

Preferred Qualifications

Clearance: TS/SCI

Education: Masters 

Years of experience: + 7 years RE

Certifications: APDP Program Management Practitioner (Level III) or PMP

 

Technical Skills

  • Ability to interpret and apply FAR/DoD acquisition guidance, support RFP and source selection development, and manage contract documentation effectively.
  • Skilled in forecasting, funds management, cost estimating, and using automated models to assess program health.
  • Proficiency in developing program artifacts, maintaining baselines, and preparing clear, accurate acquisition documentation and briefings for leadership.

 

Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to translate complex acquisition information into concise, leadership-ready briefings and collaborate effectively across technical and management teams.
  • Comfortable working with program managers, engineers, financial analysts, and contracting personnel to support integrated program execution.
  • Able to analyze program issues, provide informed recommendations, and operate with minimal direction while producing high-quality work.
