Job Description

Architect, design, secure, and implement Cloud native technologies. Research, design, secure, and implement cloud services within research cloud accounts. Oversee third party cloud suppliers’ activities and services. Define and communicate cloud standards for DevOps teams. Identify and architect automation opportunities. Perform daily monitoring and operations, verifying integrity and availability of cloud services and key processes. Install and configure monitoring and security software on EC2. Assure adherence to security policies in cloud services and configurations. Create and maintain knowledge base documentation such as runbooks, onboarding and support processes, development standards and best practices, and account inventory. Design and implement AWS Solutions by utilizing various AWS services to meet business requirements. Develop and maintain disaster recovery technologies and procedures. Architect, design and implement CI/CD for the organization. Re-architect applications from traditional server-based architecture to AWS docker container-based services and microservice architecture. Develop reusable, efficient, and scalable python modules to automate manual tasks in AWS infrastructure. Partner with customers to architect solutions, share standards and best practices, implement serverless applications, and integrations with third party products and services. Use Python boto3 module to automate AWS IAM Keys rotation, notify users of AWS Guard Duty, and Security Hub findings/vulnerabilities. Troubleshoot and resolve the root cause of AWS & Azure platform incidents. Work closely with solution architects and data engineers to prototype and implement newly launched AWS services to solve problems.

Qualifications

This position requires a Master’s degree in Technology, Computer Science, or a related field of study and seven (7) years of experience in the position offered or seven (7) years of experience as a Cloud Engineer, Software Developer, or a closely related occupation.

Requires five (5) years of experience with:

  • Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including hardware, systems software, applications software, and configurations.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting network relations issues across layers 3 through 7; software development lifecycle management (SDLC).
  • Developing clean, secure, test driven, maintainable, and modular code; Docker; Spring, Java EE, JavaScript, and SQL; planning and implementing network security measures to protect data, software, API traffic, and monitoring (AppDynamics) for threats and vulnerabilities.
  • DevOps automation tools including Maven, Nexus, Jenkins, Ansible, and Sonar.
  • Continuous integration and deployment(CI/CD).
  • Engineering solutions for high availability and failover in production environments by managing middleware-related issues, conducting performance tuning of Java EE application servers in Linux environments, operating system metrics and Java virtual machine utilization, and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Performing data backups for on-prem and cloud resources and disaster recovery operations.

Requires two (2) years of experience with:

  • Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Python and AWS Cloud Native services.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code(IAC) methodologies utilizing AWS Cloud Formation and Terraform to deploy infrastructure across AWS and Azure cloud platforms.
  • AWS Services including IAM, Cognito, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Lambda, API Gateway, Event Bridge, EC2, EMR, S3, GuardDuty, Security Hub, IoT, Cert Manager, EKS, Fargate, Systems Manager, Application and Network Load Balancers, Security Groups, NACL, WAF, Route Tables, Route 53, Transit Gateway, VPC, Firewalls, CloudFormation, CDK, SQS, SNS, SMS, RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora, Kinesis, TimeStream, Neptune, and FsX.
  • AWS, OpenShift, and Kubernetes; Python; AWS Code*, Github, BitBucket, Gitlab, and SVN.

Requires one (1) year of experience with:

  • SaaS integration with Snowflake.
  • Administering Dataiku and Snowflake.
  • Requires AWS Certification: Solutions Architect.

Must pass a background check and drug test before beginning employment.
