About this role

Job Summary

This role will primarily oversee and coordinate operation, maintenance, and construction of Company-owned power infrastructure systems.  Current and planned installations include overhead power lines, substations, transformers, reclosures, etc.  Secondary responsibilities include coordination of new installations of low voltage distribution within production and disposal facilities as well as maintenance of such equipment at existing facilities. The role will include collaboration with power system consultants, engineering, utility personnel, and 3rd party contractors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and coordinate the installation, maintenance, and repair of company operated primary and secondary voltage electrical systems to ensure that they are performing safely, efficiently, and reliably.

  • Evaluate and correct system issues at electrical infrastructure installations, facilities, and well sites to ensure continuity of critical operations.

  • Evaluate load requirements for new production and disposal facilities and submit associated services requests to utilities.

  • Route development for right-of-way of overhead power distribution systems.

  • Conductor sizing and coordination for overhead power distribution systems.

  • Promotes and provides a safe environment as it pertains to all CLR HSE policies.

  • Performs and coordinates inspections on existing electrical sites to ensure electrical safety/code compliance.

  • Generates work orders and closes work orders as necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma (or GED).

  • Minimum of ten (10) years electrical experience. Texas Journeyman Electrician -or- Journeyman Lineman License (TDLR), minimum.

  • Valid Driver’s license with acceptable MVR.

  • Ability to pass a respiratory fit test, if applicable to route/location.

  • An acceptable pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous oil and gas experience.

  • Previous experience operating, maintaining, and/or installing overhead power distribution systems up to 25kV.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Ability to stoop, stand, walk, pull, carry instruments, and climb stairs and ladders for an extended period of time.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs.

  • Ability to work overhead for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to perform fine manipulations with hands and fingers.

  • Capable of driving distances of 150 miles or more per day during all types of weather conditions.

  • Ability to one arm carry up to 25lbs. without assistance.

  • Regular bending, crouching, pulling, and kneeling to check equipment and gauges.

  • Must be able to exert up to 50lbs. of force occasionally and up to 20lbs. frequently to move or manipulate objects.

  • Ability to work significant amounts of time as required in completing job responsibilities.

  • Working environment includes exposure to extremely loud noises in the field, hazardous chemicals, and hydrocarbons that may be under extreme pressure for which appropriate safety measures are required.
