Job Description

We're looking for a strategic and collaborative leader to join our Health Group Executive as Senior Manager, Technical Partners Health.

Reporting directly to the Dean (Academic), you'll provide strategic leadership for Technical Partners Health, shaping the delivery of technical services that support learning and teaching, research and specialised facilities across Griffith Health.

Leading a multidisciplinary team of technical managers and specialists, you'll drive operational excellence across laboratories, simulation environments, research technologies and technical infrastructure, while partnering with senior leaders to deliver strategic initiatives that enhance capability, innovation and service delivery.

This is an outstanding opportunity to influence the future direction of technical services within one of Australia's largest and most diverse health faculties.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and develop a high-performing, multidisciplinary team of technical managers and specialists, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and exceptional service.
  • Partner with the Health Group Executive and senior stakeholders to develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance technical operations, infrastructure and service delivery.
  • Oversee significant operational budgets, workforce planning, equipment and infrastructure to ensure sustainable, efficient and future-focused services.
  • Drive continuous improvement through the development of contemporary technical practices, systems and service models.
  • Lead governance, compliance and risk management across specialised technical environments, ensuring alignment with legislative requirements and University policies.
  • Provide expert advice on specialised facilities, research technologies and technical infrastructure to support Griffith Health's strategic priorities.
  • Champion a safe, inclusive and high-performing culture that supports excellence across Technical Partners Health.

About you
You're a collaborative and influential senior leader with extensive experience leading complex technical operations in a large organisation. You combine strategic thinking with operational expertise and have a proven ability to build high-performing teams, influence senior stakeholders and deliver organisational improvement.

You'll also demonstrate:

  • Significant leadership experience managing multidisciplinary technical or operational teams.
  • Experience leading organisational change, service transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Strong financial and resource management skills, including strategic planning and operational budgeting.
  • Demonstrated success building productive relationships with senior stakeholders across complex organisations.
  • Extensive knowledge of laboratory, research or technical environments, including governance, compliance and risk management.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to provide high-level strategic advice.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications, or an equivalent combination of extensive experience and education.

What we can offer
This is a continuing, full-time position based at the Griffith University Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.

Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full-time equivalent base salary is HEW Level 10, $147,057 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total full-time equivalent salary package is up to $172,057 per annum.
