Position Overview:Ā
The Senior Network Engineer (Load Balancing) willĀ be responsible forĀ the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise-grade load balancing and traffic management solutions across on-prem and cloud environments. This role is critical to ensuring application availability, performance, and scalability. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with L4āL7 technologies, a performance-first mindset, and the ability toĀ operateĀ in complex, mission-critical environments.Ā

Key ResponsibilitiesĀ
Architecture & DesignĀ
- Engineer, deploy, and manage load balancing solutions (L4āL7) to support high-availability applications and servicesĀ Ā
- Design and implement traffic management strategies including SSL offload, content switching, GSLB, and application accelerationĀ Ā
- Configure and support platforms such as F5 BIG-IP (LTM/GTM), Citrix ADC (NetScaler), A10, or cloud-native load balancersĀ Ā
- OptimizeĀ application performance through tuning of persistence profiles, health monitors,Ā iRules/policies, and traffic steering logicĀ Ā
- Lead efforts in capacity planning, failover design, and disaster recovery for application delivery infrastructureĀ Ā
- Troubleshoot complex network and application performance issues across multi-tier environmentsĀ Ā
- Partner with application, DevOps, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of servicesĀ Ā
- Implement andĀ maintainĀ secure traffic flows, including WAF integration, TLS best practices, and DDoS mitigation strategiesĀ Ā
- Automate load balancer provisioning and configuration using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or vendor APIsĀ Ā
- Develop andĀ maintainĀ documentation, standards, and runbooks for traffic engineering and load balancing practicesĀ Ā
Technical LeadershipĀ
- Serve asĀ anĀ enterprise-wide authority on technology standards, patterns, and best practices.Ā
- GuideĀ bestĀ practicesĀ adoption, modernization, and migration initiatives across business units.Ā
- Provide governance for solution design, ensuring compliance, security, and performanceĀ objectivesĀ are met.Ā
- Mentor engineers and junior architects, fostering a culture of technical excellence.Ā
Implementation & OptimizationĀ
- Lead proof-of-concepts (POCs), solution prototyping, and production deployments.Ā
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps)Ā as needed.Ā
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies.Ā
Stakeholder EngagementĀ
- Partner with business leaders to translate requirements into actionable technology roadmaps.Ā
- Produce architectural diagrams, technical documentation, and executive presentations.Ā
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on the value andĀ impactĀ of proposed solutions.Ā
QualificationsĀ
- 7+ years of experience in network engineering with a strong focus on load balancing and application deliveryĀ Ā
- DeepĀ expertiseĀ in L4āL7 networking concepts, including HTTP/S, TCP optimization, persistence, and SSL/TLSĀ Ā
- Hands-on experience with platforms such as F5 BIG-IP (LTM, GTM/DNS), Citrix ADC, A10, or similarĀ Ā
- Strong understanding of DNS, GSLB, and global traffic distribution strategiesĀ Ā
- Experience with cloud load balancing in AWS (ALB/NLB), Azure (Application Gateway/Front Door), or GCPĀ Ā
- Familiarity with web application security concepts including WAF, OWASP Top 10, and zero-trust principlesĀ Ā
- Scripting/automation experience (Python, Bash, or similar) and infrastructure-as-code toolsĀ Ā
- Solid understanding of routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.)Ā Ā
- Strong troubleshooting skills with packet captures, logs, and performance metricsĀ Ā
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyĀ Ā
- Must be locally located and comfortable working a 3 days in office hybrid model and 2 days remote
