About this role
The Senior Principal Scientific Affairs Advisor provides strategic scientific, medical, and operational leadership supporting Gastroenterology (GI) and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) clinical trials. Serving as a senior subject matter expert (SME), this role partners with Clinical Operations, Medical & Scientific Affairs, Product Development, Data Science, and Business Development to support GI-focused clinical trial delivery, scientific consultation, client engagement, service innovation, and business growth.
The ideal candidate will be a Gastroenterologist or a scientific and clinical expert with extensive experience dedicated to Gastroenterology and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), including Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis.

What You'll Be Doing
Serve as the scientific and medical subject matter expert for Gastroenterology (GI) and Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) clinical trials.
Provide strategic consultation on study design, endpoint selection, disease activity assessments, and clinical implementation.
Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Medical & Scientific Affairs, Product Development, Data Science, and Business Development teams.
Partner with pharmaceutical and biotechnology sponsors to support clinical development programs and scientific strategy.
Support client engagements, proposal development, and business growth initiatives.
Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), investigators, and academic experts within the GI and IBD community.
Stay informed of scientific, clinical, and regulatory developments impacting Gastroenterology and Inflammatory Bowel Disease research.
Contribute to innovation, service enhancement, and thought leadership within the therapeutic area.
What We Look For
Required Qualifications
Advanced scientific degree (MD, DO, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent).
Minimum 10 years of experience in Gastroenterology (GI), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Clinical Research, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or related scientific leadership roles.
Deep knowledge of Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, disease activity indices, clinical endpoints, and treatment landscapes.
Experience supporting GI and/or IBD clinical trials in a CRO, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or academic research environment.
Demonstrated ability to interact with sponsors, investigators, KOLs, and cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication, presentation, and scientific consulting skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Board-Certified Gastroenterologist.
Direct patient care experience treating GI and IBD populations.
Experience supporting endoscopy, histopathology, imaging, and other endpoint assessments used in GI clinical research.
Established professional network within the Gastroenterology and IBD scientific community.
Scientific publications, presentations, or recognized contributions within the field.
