Senior Software Engineer

We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join the Cato DataSec team. In this critical role, you will join a team of experienced engineers building the next generation of Cato’s Data Security platform. You will design and develop large-scale backend systems that process massive amounts of security data, build data pipelines, and enable advanced analytics and AI-driven security capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services and data-intensive applications.
• Build and maintain large-scale data pipelines that process and analyze massive volumes of security data.
• Own features end-to-end, from architecture and backend implementation to production deployment.
• Work closely with Product Management, Research, Data Science, SOC, NOC, and Automation teams to deliver new capabilities.
• Design and implement enterprise-grade platform solutions with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Research and adopt new technologies to improve data processing, analytics, and AI-driven security products.
• Collaborate with multiple engineering teams across the organization.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend development experience using Java (Go is a plus).
• Strong experience building high-scale SaaS microservices running in production.
• Experience designing and developing data-intensive backend systems, including large-scale data processing or data pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of both relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.).
• Experience working with distributed systems and high-volume data processing.
• Experience with CI/CD and automated testing methodologies.
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Strong ownership, excellent communication skills, fast learner, and passionate about solving complex engineering challenges.
