Senior Software Engineer - Hybrid (Chennai)

Where You'll Come In

We are growing our India engineering team to support exciting upcoming client engagements across a variety of industries. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll work with modern technologies to build scalable applications, APIs, data pipelines, and cloud-native solutions for our consulting clients.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, learning new technologies, and working across different projects. While each engagement may use a different technology stack, we're looking for engineers with strong software engineering fundamentals who can quickly adapt and contribute.

What you'll do

• Design, build, test, and maintain high-quality software applications
• Develop scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems
• Build and maintain data pipelines and event-driven applications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to deliver technical solutions
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical design
• Review code and mentor other engineers
• Troubleshoot production issues and continuously improve application performance
• Work across multiple technology stacks depending on client needs

Experience with two or more of the following technologies:

Backend

• Kotlin or Java
• PHP
• Python (FastAPI preferred)

Frontend

• React
• Next.js
• TypeScript

Data & Messaging

• Apache Kafka
• Event-driven architecture
• Data pipeline development

Cloud & DevOps (Nice to Have)

• Docker
• Kubernetes
• Google Cloud Platform (preferred), AWS, or Azure

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar to improve software development workflows, code quality, debugging, testing, and documentation.
• Strong object-oriented programming skills
• Experience building scalable production applications
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and modern development practices
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to quickly learn and work with new technologies
