Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Own and drive architectural decisions focusing on Event-Driven and Microservices architectures.
- Establish engineering best practices, implement design patterns (Repository, Unit of Work), and lead code quality initiatives.
- Conduct architectural reviews and comprehensive code reviews to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Backend & API Development
- Build, scale, and maintain high-performance backend microservices using Python, FastAPI, and Pydantic.
- Design efficient, robust APIs and implement asynchronous workflows and data models.
- Manage data persistence and schema evolutions using PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, and Alembic.
Workflow Orchestration & Integration
- Architect and implement resilient, activity-based workflow designs for long-running business process automations.
- Build event streaming pipelines and messaging integrations utilizing Kafka.
- Integrate enterprise systems and operational tooling, including ServiceNow and change management lifecycles.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Drive comprehensive automated testing suites utilizing Pytest to ensure high coverage and resilience.
- Maintain dependency management and code formatting pipelines using Poetry and pre-commit hooks.
DevOps & Deployment
- Containerize services using Docker and Docker Compose for seamless local and production environments.
- Collaborate with DevOps to build CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and deployments using Helm Charts.
Team Mentoring & Collaboration
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through technical training, code reviews, and architectural guidance.
- Translate business and domain requirements into production-ready technical solutions.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of software development experience with Python.
- Strong command over FastAPI, Pydantic, and asynchronous programming in Python.
- Strong expertise in relational databases using PostgreSQL and ORM mapping with SQLAlchemy.
- Deep hands-on experience with Event-Driven Architecture, Microservices, and robust API design.
- Strong foundation in automated testing frameworks, especially Pytest.
- Hands-on containerization experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
- Proficiency with Git version control and code collaboration workflows.
Preferred Skills
- Experience designing and managing workflows and long-running business process automation (e.g., Temporal Workflows).
- Hands-on experience with event messaging using Apache Kafka.
- Experience with database migration tools such as Alembic.
- Familiarity with architectural design patterns such as Repository Pattern, Unit of Work Pattern, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
- Experience with Helm Charts, CI/CD pipeline setup, and release automation.
- Exposure to ITSM operations, ServiceNow integrations, Change Request Lifecycles, and Ansible Automation Platform.
- Experience utilizing Poetry for dependency management and pre-commit hooks for code quality.
