Job Description

The Role: Boston Engineering is seeking a hands-on Sr. Digital Solutions Technical Lead to drive architecture, integration, and software execution across our Digital Solutions portfolio including Logix, MREG, Magellan / ProtoXR and new emerging products. This role is ideal for a senior developer/architect who wants to stay close to the code while guiding teams toward scalable, deployable digital solutions. 

What You’ll Do:

• Write, review, debug, and integrate code, often spending up to 50% of your time coding depending on project phase 

• Shape practical system architecture, technical roadmaps, and deployment plans 

• Support demos, field trials, pilots, and customer engagements (30% travel) 

• Help transition prototypes into reusable, production-ready platforms 

• Mentor developers and engineers to elevate delivery quality 

Qualifications

What You Bring:

• 8+ years in software development, digital products, or systems integration 

• Strong hands-on coding experience across backend, APIs, web/mobile, and cloud/onprem/edge environments 

• Ability to lead technical work and collaborate directly with customers and partners 

• Excellent communication and documentation skills 

• BS/MS in a technical field or equivalent experience 

Bonus Skills 

• C#, Unity, Node.js, TypeScript 

• AR/MR, digital warehousing, logistics workflows, OCR/computer vision, or AI/ML 

• Microservices, Docker, PostgreSQL, Linux, NGINX, React, mobile development 

• Cybersecurity, secure deployments, and work in defense/industrial environments

Location: Office-based role in Waltham, MA

Reports to: VP, Research & Development

This role is restricted to US persons (i.e., US citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 USC 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Boston Engineering will require proof of status prior to employment. 

Salary Range:  The base salary range for this position is $160,000.00 to $180,000.00 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.  The final offer amount will be determined by factors such as the candidate’s education, experience and skills. A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k) match, and paid time off is also provided.
