Job Role: Senior Trainer/Assessor

 

Salary: £46,000 - £51,000 + 10% performance bonus + regional allowance (dependant on candidate location)

 

Working Location: Nationwide

 

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent

This role will attract a job-needs car, subject to NHBC’s annual mileage requirement.

Job summary:

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Trainer / Assessor to join our Training team. In this role, you’ll deliver high-quality training and assessment across the construction industry, helping to raise standards and support the next generation of professionals. You’ll be working with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, bringing technical expertise and excellent communication skills to create real impact.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering a mix of technical, health & safety, procedural, and customer service training
  • Assessing candidates and supporting qualification programmes
  • Working closely with customers to understand their training needs and design tailored solutions
  • Ensuring training is delivered to a high standard, on time and within budget
  • Supporting other trainers and assessors to develop their skills and knowledge
  • Maintaining NHBC’s accreditations and contributing to continuous improvement projects
  • Representing NHBC Training at industry events and professional forums

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong background in the construction industry, ideally within new-build housing
  • Qualified and experienced in training and / or assessing, or significant experience in developing and delivering training
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good IT skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Extensive knowledge of housebuilding and the legislative framework
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays
  • Professional membership (or willing to working towards) of a relevant body such as CIOB, CABE, IOSH, RICS, or similar
