Reporting to the Regional Director, the Site Manager is responsible for coordinating site activities, managing teams, and ensuring the smooth execution of operations related to the purchasing, transportation, and processing of materials. The Site Manager contributes to achieving performance objectives while maintaining a safe work environment and a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a strong presence in the field and work closely with employees on a daily basis.
  • Supervise, coach, and motivate the team; conduct performance evaluations and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Monitor employee performance, prepare analytical reports, and provide appropriate coaching and support.
  • Organize the efficient dispatching of trucks and coordinate transportation schedules.
  • Manage the procurement and supply of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
  • Plan, direct, and oversee daily activities in collaboration with department supervisors.
  • Establish priorities, identify performance gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Actively contribute to achieving financial objectives and controlling operating costs.
  • Prepare reports for management and participate in strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain a customer-service-focused culture by building and supporting a team dedicated to meeting local customer needs.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve processes and optimize operational efficiency.
  • Execute local marketing initiatives to increase site visibility and address the specific needs of the local market.
  • Develop, document, and update operational policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health and safety standards and take all necessary measures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform any other related duties as required by operational needs.

Work Environment

  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions;
  • Regular exposure to hazardous materials;
  • Work performed in an industrial environment with varying levels of noise, dust, and moving equipment;
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced operational setting while adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in operations management, including at least 2 years in the metals industry or a related sector (asset);
  • Proven experience managing teams of 5 or more employees with measurable results;
  • Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written) at a professional level;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute operational strategies aligned with corporate objectives;
  • Experience leading organizational transformation and continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and project management tools;
  • Preferred certifications: Lean Six Sigma, Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent certification.
