About this role
CHAP Group Limited are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead all personnel on site and manage day to day site operations. You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to a high standard and within budget.
Main tasks
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations and company standards.
- Take responsibility for day-to-day site decisions to maximise efficiency and profitability.
- Liaise with the design team to manage drawings, specifications, and timely implementation of TQs.
- Supervise all site personnel, allocating daily tasks and ensuring clear communication of work requirements.
- Identify training and development needs within the team and support delivery of training where required.
- Maintain high quality standards through ITP inspections, issuing defect notices, and overseeing rectification works.
- Monitor contract and target programmes, producing 2–4 week look-ahead schedules to ensure resources meet project demands.
- Review and propose programme or design improvements to enhance delivery and margin (subject to approval).
- Review specifications and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
- Prepare detailed and accurate material take-offs, supported by clear documentation and marked-up drawings.
Qualifications & Criteria
Essential
- CITB SMSTS certification.
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Full UK driving licence.
- First Aid certification.
- Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary construction projects.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and influence teams.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- IT literate, including Microsoft Office.
Desirable
- Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- NVQ/SVQ Level 4 in Construction Management (or working towards).
- Trade background or construction apprenticeship.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in site supervision or project management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage on-site challenges.
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry best practice.
This role is expected to commence in July/August 2026.
