JOB PURPOSE
The Senior Manager SOC 2 oversees multiple System and Organisation Controls (SOC) examination engagements within the firm’s assurance practice. This role manages the planning, execution, and delivery of SOC2 attestation engagements, ensuring compliance with AICPA attestation standards and firm quality requirements.Â
The Senior Manager serves as a key client contact, guiding SOC reporting requirements, control design, and compliance expectations. This role oversees engagement teams, reviews technical work, and ensures high-quality delivery across engagements.Â
In addition to engagement delivery, the Senior Manager supports practice growth, contributes to business development efforts, and plays a critical role in developing Managers and junior staff within the SOC practice.Â

Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
- Engagement LeadershipÂ
- Manage and oversee SOC 2 examination engagements from planning through report deliveryÂ
- Coordinate multiple concurrent engagements while ensuring adherence to AICPA attestation standards (SSAE 18 / AT-C 205 / AT-C 320)Â
- Develop engagement plans, timelines, and resource allocationsÂ
- Ensure timely completion of deliverables and high-quality engagement outcomesÂ
- Serve as the primary day-to-day engagement lead responsible for execution and client coordinationÂ

Technical Oversight and Assurance QualityÂ
- Apply subject matter expertise in:Â
- SOC 2 Trust Services CriteriaÂ
- Internal control frameworks and IT control environmentsÂ
- Review control testing procedures, workpapers, and supporting documentation for accuracy and completenessÂ
- Evaluate control design and operating effectiveness across client environmentsÂ
- Ensure engagement documentation complies with firm methodology and quality standardsÂ
- Identify and escalate technical or compliance issues to senior leadershipÂ

Client Advisory and Relationship ManagementÂ
- Act as a primary point of contact for client teams during engagementsÂ
- Lead client walkthroughs, status meetings, and control discussionsÂ
- Communicate engagement progress, findings, and recommendations clearly to client stakeholdersÂ
- Guide SOC readiness, remediation, and control improvementsÂ
- Support the resolution of client issues and ensure a positive engagement experienceÂ

Report Review and DeliveryÂ
- Review SOC reports, management assertions, and supporting documentationÂ
- Ensure deliverables meet AICPA reporting standards and firm quality expectationsÂ
- Coordinate with Associate Directors/Directors for final review and issuanceÂ
- Ensure timely delivery of reports and client communicationsÂ
Practice Support and Business DevelopmentÂ
- Support business development initiatives, including:Â
- Proposal preparationÂ
- Scoping discussionsÂ
- Client presentationsÂ
- Identify opportunities to expand services within existing client accountsÂ
- Contribute to the development of methodologies, templates, and best practicesÂ
- Support continuous improvement of engagement processes and toolsÂ

Team Leadership and MentorshipÂ
- Manage and mentor Managers, Seniors, and Associates across engagementsÂ
- Provide coaching and technical training on SOC reporting and internal controlsÂ
- Review staff work and provide performance feedbackÂ
- Support onboarding and development of new team membersÂ
- Promote a collaborative and high-performance team environmentÂ

Required QualificationsÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related fieldÂ
- 5+ years of experience in audit, assurance, cybersecurity compliance, or risk advisoryÂ
- Significant experience performing and managing SOC 1 and SOC 2 engagementsÂ
- Strong knowledge of AICPA attestation standards and SOC reporting frameworksÂ
- Experience managing multiple engagements and leading engagement teamsÂ
- Strong written and verbal communication skillsÂ

Preferred QualificationsÂ
- CPA license from the US (active)Â
- Additional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, CISM, or CRISCÂ
- Experience working in public accounting, consulting, or specialized assurance firmsÂ
