You will be joining an Award-winning SAM team within our extensive Australian Service Operations business.

As a Senior consulting member of the SAM team, you will lead consulting projects and work collaboratively with the other SAM team members. This role has flexible work arrangements and is ideal for someone who is keen to develop their career by taking the next step to apply their experience in Software Asset Management consulting into multiple large customers in both the commercial and government industries.

What you’ll do   

In this role you will lead SAM Consulting projects and work collaboratively with other Software Asset Management (SAM) team members, Software Licensing Consultants, and Customer account teams. Essentially, the Software Asset Management Consultant will:

  • Act as Consulting SAM Subject Matter Expert for our customers and the SAM team.
  • Deliver SAM Consulting services relevant to today’s changing technology landscape and market demands.
  • Deliver and Assess Compliance Reviews (Effective Licensing Positions) for Customers.
  • Deliver commercial and contract advisory services to customers in relation to their Tier 1 Software Publishers.
  • Improve our customers audit readiness and audit defense posture.
  • Review current software licensing Terms and Conditions, License Agreements, and License Contracts to identify any breaches or risks for our customers.
  • Apply knowledge of licensing rules and use rights within SAM Consulting Services.
  • Develop, Document, and Present licensing modelling recommendations to our customers.
  • Lead the achievement of the outcomes of multiple projects and customer contracts.
  • Provide quality customer service through adherence to Datacom’s Asset Management service delivery methodology and processes.
  • Develop license reclamation strategies to initiate cost avoidance activities.
  • Propose remediation and optimisation activities that may result in reduced compliance risk and/or financial savings and cost avoidance.
  • Lead implementation, configuration and ongoing administration of Flexera One for inventory ingestion, normalization, reconciliation and license position reporting
  • Perform license reconciliations, consumption analysis, entitlement mapping and optimization recommendations using Flexera One reports and dashboards.
  • Interpret data outputs from the SAM technologies and other tools to provide accurate and timely reporting.
  • Liaise with service management, and customer teams to define, optimise, and develop SAM standards, processes, procedures, plans and controls to ensure appropriate service asset information is recorded and maintained.

What you’ll bring  

We’re looking for an independent, proactive, highly skilled, and enthusiastic team member who’s interested in being part of a larger group delivering a high-quality SAM Consulting solutions to our customers. You’ll bring expertise developed over 5+ years in a Software Asset Management, especially with Oracle licensing and compliance expertise, as you will be undertaking a range of interesting lead activities relating to software licensing, audit defense, and compliance management with Tier 1 Software Publishers (Oracle, IBM, and Microsoft) on behalf of our customers.

Demonstrable, hands-on experience with Flexera One (installation/configuration, data ingestion, discovery, normalization, inventory reconciliation, custom reporting).

You will also be leading the delivery of the Software Asset Management (SAM) managed services projects for multiple customers from Commercial and Government industries.

This role does not involve software licensing sales targets.

Your ability to work with other members of the SAM and customer management teams to develop and deliver quality solutions for our customer is critical to the success of our SAM Consulting and Managed services.
