Software Developer (Co-op)

Zaber seeks a Software Developer who is excited to help support company growth, make their colleagues’ work-lives easier, and build on their own skills and knowledge in the process. 

You’ll join a team of experienced Software Developers, and a dedicated Business Analyst/Project Manager, to maintain and improve our custom ERP software that touches every part of the business. Our “customers” are our colleagues. You’ll gain exposure to every facet of the manufacturing business, and use your skills and creativity to collaborate, solve problems, and identify opportunities throughout the company.

As a Software Developer working on internal systems, you will:

• Build and improve custom systems including our ERP system, specialized web applications, and a multitude of small services, to facilitate and automate work throughout the company.
• Support your colleagues by troubleshooting issues, and adapting systems to their evolving needs.
• Participate in project development, sprint planning, retrospectives, design/code reviews, and planning improvements to help set the direction of the team.

You’re the ideal Software Developer if you:

• Have experience with Python or a similar object-oriented language, and SQL. Experience with TypeScript and React is a plus. 
• Love programming, and have a strong foundation in object oriented design, modern web standards, and relational databases. 
• Take the initiative to learn new things, gain a complete understanding of them, think problems through, and ask specific questions to fill in the gaps.
• Are keen to work directly with your end-users, seek to understand their needs, and find creative solutions.
• Are currently enrolled in a degree or diploma program.

Software Developer Details:

• Wage: The starting wage for the role is $24 - $28/hour depending on experience.
• Closing Date: September 26, 2026
• Start Date: January 4, 2027
• Length of position: 8 months preferred
• This role is primarily on site with some flexibility for working from home.
