About this role

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) specializing in Quality Assurance (QA) with at least 5 years of professional experience, ideally within Fintech or e-commerce domains, to join our team. As an SDET QA, you will ensure the quality and reliability of our software products through a strong mix of manual and automated testing. You will collaborate closely with development, product, and business teams to implement effective testing strategies and processes, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions to our customers.
This role requires someone equally comfortable owning manual testing responsibilities and building/maintaining automation — we are not looking for candidates who have worked primarily or exclusively in automation without hands-on manual testing exposure.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute manual test plans and test cases based on functional and non-functional requirements, in addition to developing and maintaining automated test suites.
  • Validate software functionality, performance, and scalability through a balanced combination of manual and automated testing approaches.
  • Analyze test results to identify defects and regressions, and drive them to closure.
  • Raise and track Jira tickets to closure. Promote builds to UAT, Staging and ultimately production.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including product, business, and other non-technical stakeholders — to understand project requirements, business context, and provide input on testability and quality.
  • Bring domain understanding (Fintech/e-commerce) to testing strategy, anticipating edge cases and risks specific to these domains.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and other team activities to ensure the overall quality of our software solutions.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues reported by customers or identified during testing, and work with the development team to implement solutions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in software testing and quality assurance, and advocate for their adoption within the organization.
Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, with meaningful, hands-on experience in both manual and automation testing — candidates who have worked purely in automation roles will not be a fit.
  • Prior experience in Fintech or e-commerce domains is highly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in modern test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium; TestNG or JUnit).
  • Experience with programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar.
  • Experience in API test automation using tools such as Pytest, REST Assured, Postman/Newman.
  • Familiarity with containerization and cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/Azure/GCP) as they relate to test execution and environments.
  • Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar).
  • Exposure to performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6, Gatling) and/or contract testing is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong domain understanding, with the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders beyond the tech team (product, business, operations).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
