Software Engineer Automation Test Engineer- Playwright, Chennai.

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Mid-Level Test Automation Engineer with 5+ years of experience specializing in Playwright to join our product-based engineering team. In this role, you will ensure the quality, stability, and performance of our software products through strong automation practices and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, define, and implement the overall testing strategy for projects.  
  • Develop, maintain, and document test plans, test cases, test procedures, and scripts. 
  • Perform product-level integration testing and ensure system stability. 
  • Implement, execute, and debug automated test scripts using modern tools and frameworks. 
  • Perform manual testing covering complete functional validation prior to automation. 
  • Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality deliverables. 
  • Identify defects, technical problems, and provide solutions including fixes and optimizations. 
  • Continuously improve development and release processes through automation and best practices.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new tools, technologies, and best practices for QA and automation. 
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship, including code reviews, documentation, and testing practices. 
  • Write maintainable, scalable, and high-quality code (primarily in JavaScript/TypeScript for Playwright; familiarity with Java/Python is a plus). 
  • Ensure end-to-end product quality in a product-based organization environment. 

 

 

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright automation framework (JavaScript/TypeScript preferred). 
  • Solid understanding of software testing principles (functional, regression, integration testing). 
  • In-depth knowledge of QA processes, testing lifecycle, and automation strategies. 
  • Experience working in a product-based organization with a focus on delivering customer-centric solutions. 
  • Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, lifecycle, and best practices. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with development teams and product leads. 
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies. 
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong expertise in testing all layers of web applications, including frontend, services (API), and backend systems. 
  • Excellent English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quick learning ability with new technologies. 
  • Experience working in Agile development environments. 
  • Proficiency with Git and Git-based workflows. 
  • Strong understanding of REST, HTTPS, SOAP, and JSON-based services.
