About this role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient professional to oversee the management and continuous development of our web infrastructure and version-controlled repositories. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining our Jekyll-based website, administering GitHub repositories, leveraging AI-assisted development platforms to deliver high-quality web solutions, and serving as the primary technical steward of the organization's digital presence.

Work Location: Pune, India (work from office)

Key Responsibilities

Website Development & Maintenance

  • Administer and update the organization's Jekyll-based website, including the authoring and modification of content, templates, and configurations in accordance with established standards
  • Ensure the website remains current, functional, and aligned with organizational objectives across all browsers and devices
  • Optimize website performance, speed, and capacity to effectively handle traffic demands
  • Implement and maintain website security measures to protect sensitive data and user information
  • Monitor website traffic, uptime, and performance metrics, escalating issues as appropriate

Code Quality & Testing

  • Evaluate and author code to ensure it meets industry standards, is properly structured, and is compatible with relevant browsers, devices, and operating systems
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
  • Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code in accordance with organizational development standards

Repository Management

  • Create, organize, and maintain GitHub repositories; enforce version control best practices including branching strategies, pull request workflows, and comprehensive documentation to support team collaboration and code integrity
  • Author and maintain README files, wikis, technical guides, and internal documentation for all managed codebases and workflows

AI-Assisted Development & Hosting

  • Utilize Claude Code to develop, test, and deploy code efficiently and accurately
  • Employ Cowork to design, build, and host web properties on behalf of the organization
  • Stay current with emerging AI-assisted development tools and apply relevant advancements to improve operational efficiency

Integrations & Data Management

  • Manage integrations with third-party APIs, plugins, and back-end web services as required
  • Oversee the integrity and functionality of data connections between front-end interfaces and underlying systems

Stakeholder Collaboration & Communication

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between non-technical staff, designers, and external vendors, translating business requirements into actionable technical solutions
  • Collaborate with designers and content stakeholders to ensure visual and functional design intent is accurately realized
  • Communicate proactively with relevant stakeholders regarding project status, technical decisions, and potential risks
  • Gather, clarify, and refine specifications and requirements based on organizational and technical needs

Continuous Improvement

  • Maintain awareness of evolving web technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and apply relevant advancements to organizational operations
  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of the organization's web infrastructure on an ongoing basis

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Jekyll or comparable static site generator frameworks
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, Markdown, and Liquid templating
  • Proven experience with Git and GitHub, including repository administration, branching, pull requests, and issue tracking
  • Ability to effectively operate Claude Code and Cowork in a professional development environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of independent judgment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 3-6 years of experience in Web development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions
  • Familiarity with web hosting environments and deployment workflows
  • Experience with third-party API integrations and back-end data services
  • Prior experience integrating AI-assisted tooling within a structured development practice
  • Knowledge of web security principles and best practices
