Position Overview:

  • Manages day to day accounting tasks
  • In collaboration with the Senior Accountant, helps to compile and analyze financial information
  • Manages office related tasks as needed

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the monthly and year-end close by preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and supporting financial reporting activities.
  • Prepare annual Forms 1099, file unclaimed property reports with applicable states, and ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and provide documentation as requested.
  • Serve as a backup for Accounts Payable and Payroll functions
  • Process and reconcile patient check disbursements and electronic payments
  • Manage banking activities, including uploading payment files, reviewing Positive Pay exceptions, monitoring bank alerts, and coordinating fraud prevention activities with Operations and banking partners.
  • Coordinate with financial institutions to obtain check images, process stop payments and check trace requests, respond to banking inquiries, and support returned checks.
  • Initiate trace cases for voided and returned patient payments, collaborate with the Operations team to investigate discrepancies, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide general administrative support by maintaining the corporate calendar, coordinating meetings, monitoring and ordering office supplies and equipment, handling incoming and outgoing mail, and serving as the primary point of contact for visitors.
  • Perform other accounting, financial, and administrative duties as assigned to support the Finance and Operations teams.
  • Manage the receivable donation process, including recording donations, preparing and depositing checks, scanning supporting documentation, and processing outgoing mail.

Key Technical Skills and Knowledge (if applicable):

  • Strong accounting, organizational, and data management skills
  • Good communication skills, internal/external customer service, attention to detail, and maintenance of confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting; excellent productivity and time management skills


Qualifications & Education Requirements:

  • 1-3 years relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's degree in an accounting
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered
  • Deals with confidential information and/or issues using discretion and judgment

Preferred Competencies:

  • Experience with Net Suite accounting software
  • Ability to work across all departments and/or on project teams
  • Experience with Payroll
