Staff Frontend Engineer

The Role

We are seeking a Staff Front End Software Engineer to join the Secure Messaging team within our Product Solutions organization.

Our team is focused on building integrated, compliant communication capabilities that allow advisors and their clients to interact seamlessly within the Addepar platform. We partner closely with product, design, and backend engineers to deliver secure, real-time messaging experiences that meet the highest standards of reliability and regulatory compliance.

We're looking for a technical leader who will drive frontend architecture decisions, own end-to-end delivery of complex features, and raise the bar for engineering quality across the team. You'll work across the stack when needed, integrating with vendor-provided infrastructure, designing permission models, and building polished user experiences.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the frontend architecture for secure messaging, building modern, performant interfaces using Svelte and Ember.
• Own end-to-end delivery of multi-month projects across the stack, from design through production.
• Shape technical direction for the team by establishing frontend standards, contributing to shared libraries, and driving design reviews.
• Collaborate effectively with product managers, designers, and engineers across time zones to align on priorities and deliver outcomes.
• Mentor other engineers on the team, identifying skill gaps and fostering professional growth through pairing, code review, and technical guidance.
• Communicate technical ideas and set direction on projects with a focus on solving business challenges.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that's also scalable and extensible.

Who You Are

• B.S., or M.S. in Computer Science or similar technical field of study (or equivalent practical experience).
• 9+ years of software engineering experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in modern frontend development, with deep experience in component-based frameworks (Svelte, React, or Ember) and state management patterns.
• Strong full-stack capability, including experience with Java, API design, and cloud services.
• Experience leading cross-team technical initiatives and building consensus on architectural decisions.
• Proven ability to mentor and grow engineers through design reviews, pairing, and technical coaching.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams.
• A strong ownership mentality and drive to solve the most important problems.
• A rapid learner with robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
