We are looking for a System Engineer to join our team who will work on both our current missions and future projects.


The Role

The successful candidate will be a key member of our Mission and Systems Team to implement the rapid delivery of a spacecraft, from architectural definition to operational support. As such, you will be a part of the team defining the satellite bus architecture for ClearSpace’s missions and will support all phases of the platform lifecycle, from conceptual phase until testing and validation. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a rapidly expanding, multi-disciplinary environment with opportunities to grow professionally and offer the chance to work outside of your discipline, if desired. 


Key responsibilities

  • Derive and manage mission, system and segment requirement specifications from mission goals, including system interfaces, across space, ground and launch segments, and ensuring traceability
  • Perform system analyses and contribute to system-level trade-offs and design architecture decisions
  • Contribute to core SE elements such as functional analysis, concept of operations definition, mission analysis, system modes, FMEA/FMECA, V&V planning
  • Maintain system budgets (link, power, delta-v, propellant, etc)
  • Evaluate risks and define mitigation strategies. Identify risks, and participate in risk, opportunity and resolution plans
  • Write and maintain engineering documentation
  • Participate in design reviews and respond to RIDs



Must Have

  • BSc Degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Physics or similar
  • 2 to 5 years experience on end to end mission experience working as a Systems Engineer for space systems, performing design and analysis


Nice to have

  • MSc/PhD Degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics or similar
  • A team player, willing to get stuck in and collaborate wherever is needed.
  • Agile, flexible and able to work across a geographically-distributed teams
  • A great communicator
  • Experience in AIV or Operations of a space system
