About this role

Job Summary

The Team Lead – Forex Operations is responsible for overseeing day-to-day FX trading, pricing, liquidity management, funding operations, and treasury controls across multiple currencies and corridors. The role leads a team of Forex Analysts, drives profitability through effective FX pricing and spread management, ensures liquidity availability, and maintains strong governance over FX risk, settlements, and partner relationships. The position serves as the primary escalation point for FX operations and collaborates closely with Treasury, Finance, Operations, Product, Network, Banking Partners, and Management teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. FX Trading & Pricing Management

  • Manage FX pricing strategies across corridors and currencies.
  • Oversee deal-based, time-based, and streaming FX models.
  • Approve high-value and sensitive FX trades.
  • Monitor FX market movements and recommend pricing adjustments.
  • Ensure competitiveness while maintaining target margins.
  • Review corridor profitability and optimization opportunities.

2. Treasury & Liquidity Management

  • Manage global liquidity positions and funding requirements.
  • Oversee prefunding arrangements with partners and banks.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of credit lines and nostro accounts.
  • Monitor funding gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Drive liquidity optimization initiatives.

3. Revenue & Profitability Management

  • Track FX revenue, spreads, and corridor profitability.
  • Review partner-wise profitability considering: FX Revenue, Transaction fee Revenue, Transaction Volumes and Credit utilization.
  • Identify underperforming corridors and improvement opportunities.
  • Present profitability insights to management.

4. Team Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop Forex Analysts.
  • Define team objectives and performance standards.
  • Allocate responsibilities and ensure operational coverage.
  • Conduct regular reviews and training sessions.
  • Drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

5. Risk Management & Controls

  • Monitor FX exposure and liquidity risks.
  • Ensure adherence to treasury policies and approved limits.
  • Oversee implementation of control frameworks and audit recommendations.
  • Support regulatory and compliance requirements.

6. Partner & Banking Relationship Management

  • Engage with banking partners, liquidity providers, and payout partners.
  • Negotiate pricing, liquidity, funding, and credit arrangements.
  • Participate in partner onboarding and commercial discussions.
  • Act as escalation point for critical settlement and funding issues.

7. Reporting & Management Information

  • Review daily treasury and FX reports.
  • Prepare management dashboards covering: FX Revenue, Volumes, Liquidity positions etc
  • Present business insights and recommendations to senior management.

8. Process Improvement & Automation

  • Drive automation of treasury and FX processes.
  • Improve reconciliation, settlement, and reporting workflows.
  • Support implementation of treasury management systems and pricing engines.
  • Standardize operating procedures across regions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Accounting, or related field.
  • MBA, CFA, FRM, ACT Treasury Certification, or equivalent preferred.
  • 4–10 years of experience in Treasury, Foreign Exchange, Banking, Payments, or FinTech.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of people management experience.
