Why This Role Matters

As a Consultant – M&A Infrastructure Advisory, you will support ERM's global consulting delivery by providing technical, ESG, and EHS due diligence services for infrastructure and energy sector transactions. You will work within ERM's growing Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team, partnering with infrastructure funds, private equity firms, investment banks, energy companies, and ERM technical specialists to help clients evaluate investments and manage transaction risks.

With a team of over 50 consultants delivering due diligence services globally and increasing client demand across the infrastructure sector, this role is critical to expanding ERM's M&A advisory capabilities and delivering high-quality technical insights that support investment, divestment, and project financing decisions.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a solar energy professional with 5-7 years of experience, preferably in consulting, skilled in solar performance analysis, energy yield assessment and Pvsyst based energy modeling. The role involves energy yield estimation using PVSyst, solar resource analysis, ensuring technical accuracy, project management and collaborating with stakeholders for high-quality project deliverables.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Expert in using energy production simulation tools PVsyst.
  • Review of meteorological resource historical data evaluation and execute solar resource assessment.
  • Review operating data from operating solar PV power plants. Analysis of plant downtime history to understand the recurring losses and RCA behind it.
  • To prepare and maintain data in insightful formats to be used by project teams.
  • Review electrical and structural documents to ensure losses consideration as per industry standard and best practices.
  • Stay updated on solar market trends, including  satellite solar resource datasets, module/inverter/tracker technology and performance monitoring practices.
  • Perform solar PV plant design and optimization, considering site constraint, module selection, shading analysis.
  • Demonstrate expertise in creating detailed shading scenes and comprehensive understanding of all Pvsyst features related to shade scene object is essential.
  • Conduct plant performance analysis and translate into written reports.
  • Identify and analyze all Solar PV plant losses.
  • Support technical due diligence and transaction projects.
  • Industry Knowledge Capability
  • Leverages experience with plant engineering and design, inspections, outage assessment, equipment condition assessment, reliability/availability assessments, conducting field observations, performance assessments.
  • Proactively develop additional knowledge applicable to the area of expertise.
  • Collects and analyzes information specific to the industry to recommend alternatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with solar production estimating tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Regression Analysis
  • Knowledge of Battery energy storage system (BESS), hybrid project analysis and programming skills (e.g. Python) is an added advantage.
  • Advanced PC literacy 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical, Renewable Energy or a related field.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a business/consulting environment.
  • Prior experience with solar PV technology or analysis role. At least delivered/led PE analysis of 50+ projects in North America (including Distributed Generated and Utility scale Projects)
  • Comfortable with Microsoft office, advance excel and word.
