About this role

(i.e.,) are looking for a Tech Lead to join our BAU retained team, working across one of our largest enterprise accounts. You'll bring deep .NET architecture experience and have made the move into Next.js, keeping our client's platform running, evolving and genuinely improving over time. This role suits someone who's as comfortable owning long-term technical stewardship as they are shipping new features.

Research indicates that certain demographic groups, such as women, may be less inclined to apply for a role unless they meet all the job requirements. If you're interested in this role, we strongly encourage you to apply, as you might be just what we're looking for.

The salary band for this role: $162,000 - $200,000 (Inclusive of superannuation)

About the opportunity

This is a retained BAU role. You'll own technical leadership across a large enterprise account, balancing steady operational delivery with the kind of ongoing improvement that keeps a platform healthy for years, not just months. You'll be trusted to make the judgement calls on when to fix, when to refactor, and when to build new.

Your background is grounded in .NET architecture, and you've made the shift into Next.js understanding both worlds means you can make the right call for the client, not just the familiar one. Experience with Sitecore or another headless CMS is a strong advantage, given the platform you'll be working across.

You'll sit within a cross-functional team to support with:

  • Owning technical leadership across a large enterprise account, balancing BAU delivery with longer-term platform improvement
  • Solution delivery using Nexj.JS framework
  • Making architecture decisions that span .NET and Next.js, translating between the two where needed and align them with Senior Architects roadmap
  • Guiding the team on when to fix, refactor, or rebuild protecting platform health over time
  • Identify and prioritise technical debt
  • Investigate and debug most complex platform and integration problems around caching, solution bundling, performance and reliability
  • Mentoring engineers on the account, raising technical standards day to day
  • Contribute to documentation and standards
  • Acting as the technical point of contact for the client, building trust through consistency and clear communication
  • Partnering with delivery leads to keep technical work tied to the client's evolving business needs
  • Lead and coach engineers in your and other teams

What you'll bring

The difference between a strong candidate and an average one here is depth across two worlds. Someone who's spent real time in .NET architecture and has genuinely made the move into modern JavaScript frameworks, not just dabbled.

More specifically, you'll bring:

  • A strong background in .NET skills, with genuine hands-on experience in Next.js
  • Experience with Sitecore or another headless CMS platform (highly regarded, not required)
  • A track record leading technical delivery on long-running, retained client accounts
  • Genuine people leadership experience. You've managed or led engineers directly, not just technically guided them
  • Comfort balancing BAU support work with ongoing platform improvement. This isn't a green-field build
  • Strong communication skills. You can talk architecture with engineers and translate it just as clearly for the client
  • A mentoring mindset. You build up the people around you, not just the platform
  • Innovation and ability to work around environment constraints to achieve best possible outcome

What success looks like

At six months: You've built genuine trust with the client and the team, you understand the platform inside and out, and you're already making sound calls on technical direction.

At twelve months: You're the technical backbone of the account. The client trusts your judgement, the platform is measurably healthier, and engineers on the team are stronger because of your mentoring. You can define clear directions for the platform and guide other teams contributing to the platform.
