Our goal is to bring fusion electricity to the grid by developing the power stations of tomorrow and the skilled workforce to deliver them.

About the job

Join the JET Decommissioning and Repurposing (JDR) Division and play an important role in supporting the safe and successful decommissioning and future repurposing of the JET facility and its supporting infrastructure. As a Technical Administrator, you will provide essential operational, safety, and administrative support, helping to control site access, coordinate work activities, and support the smooth running of the JDR estate.

Working as part of a collaborative team, you will oversee a range of operational and administrative activities, ensuring accurate records are maintained, procedures are followed, and key information is communicated effectively. Working closely with employees and contractors, you'll play a vital role in supporting daily site operations. Full training will be provided.

  • Support the day-to-day operation of the JDR Site Office, maintaining site presence during operational hours and helping ensure activities run safely and efficiently.
  • Control site access and support work activities, including issuing keys, permits, equipment, and delivering site inductions in line with established procedures.
  • Monitor site safety and security systems, including alarms and CCTV, coordinating initial responses and escalating issues where required.
  • Manage site stores and administration, including PPE, stationery, safety notices, records, signage updates, and other operational documentation.
  • Work closely with colleagues and contractors to support safe site operations, ensuring procedures are followed and clear communication is maintained.

What You’ll Bring

  • Relevant vocational qualification (Level 3) or equivalent experience.
  • IOSH trained or willingness to undertake training
  • A good understanding of safety procedures and why they are required.
  • Experience in an operational or safety-controlled environment or equivalent.
  • Familiar with MS Office 365 platform.
