Overview

The Technical Engineering Lead serves as SnapNrack's technical authority for structural engineering, engineering calculations, product application and permitting support. The role bridges Product Development, Application Engineering and Digital Platforms by translating engineering principles into scalable design standards, software logic and customer solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Own structural engineering methodologies, engineering calculations and documentation, span tables and product application criteria across the product portfolio.

  • Interpret national and local building codes, AHJ requirements and engineering standards, translating them into practical product design guidance.

  • Develop and maintain engineering rules supporting Blueprint (SnapNrack’s online engineering and BOM tool) configuration, BOM generation and digital engineering tools.

  • Provide advanced engineering support for complex customer applications, strategic accounts and new market opportunities including Commercial & Industrial.

  • Partner with Product Development to validate designs, establish engineering assumptions and support new product introductions.

  • Coordinate external engineering consultants, PV designers, professional engineers and permitting organizations.

  • Develop technical standards, engineering documentation and reusable design practices that strengthen organizational capability.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the Solar or Solar Racking Industry

  • BS in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering; PE preferred.

  • 7+ years in structural or solar engineering.

  • Experience supporting PV design and engineering teams and processes preferred.

  • Experience with ASCE 7, IBC, IRC, WFCM, and NDS codes, construction project plan review and permitting processes, structural analysis and customer-facing engineering.

  • Successful support of C&I and strategic projects.

  • Reduced dependence on single-person expertise.

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:

$110,570.94 to $147,427.92
