About this role

A3 Technology, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Writer/Editor to join our FAA team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, editing and revising strategy and concept documents, position papers, briefings, reports and special documentation associated with the Radar System Replacement program.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, edit, format, and maintain technical documentation supporting all phases of the Radar System Replacement (RSR) program.
  • Review engineering documentation for technical accuracy, completeness, clarity, consistency, grammar, and formatting.
  • Coordinate with Systems Engineers, Project Managers, Logistics personnel, and field engineers to collect, organize, and validate technical information.
  • Produce and maintain Site Survey Reports (SSR), System Level Implementation Plans (SLIP), Site-Specific Implementation Plans (SSIP), Site Optimization Reports, readiness documentation, meeting minutes, and implementation documentation.
  • Maintain configuration-controlled documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including document version control, baselines, revision history, and document traceability.
  • Incorporate engineering changes, field modifications, and red-line markups into controlled documentation and as-built records.
  • Ensure documentation complies with applicable FAA standards, engineering practices, quality requirements, and customer formatting guidelines.
  • Support document reviews, technical interchange meetings, readiness reviews, and Government documentation audits.
  • Coordinate document approvals and maintain official project documentation repositories.
  • Assist in developing standard document templates, style guides, and documentation processes that improve consistency and quality.
  • Support quality assurance and configuration management activities by ensuring all released documentation accurately reflects approved system configurations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communications, English, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience preparing technical documentation for engineering, information technology, telecommunications, or federal government programs.
  • Experience developing engineering documentation, implementation plans, technical manuals, procedures, and reports.
  • Strong understanding of document lifecycle management, version control, and baseline management.
  • Excellent written, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, diagrams, technical specifications, and systems documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, and document management systems.
  • Experience supporting systems engineering, infrastructure modernization, or telecommunications projects.


Additionally, US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US is a must. Upon receiving a conditional offer of employment, candidates will undergo a Government investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for Government clearance. Verification of past employment, education and references is also required. It is imperative that candidates be either a US citizen or a current green card holder with the last 3 consecutive years as a resident of the US.


The salary range for positions is $50,000 to $175,000. This range is provided as a general guideline and should not be interpreted as a guarantee of compensation. Actual salary offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. In addition, compensation may be influenced by applicable Federal Government contract labor categories and established contract wage rates.
