What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

Build trusted partnerships across your territory! Assurant is seeking a Territory Relationship Manager (Flood Insurance) to become the trusted face of Assurant for insurance agencies and brokerages across an assigned territory.


In this relationship-led role, you’ll help agency partners solve problems, navigate service and business needs, and get the most from their partnership with Assurant. You’ll also uncover opportunities to deepen relationships and grow Assurant’s share of flood business—through exceptional service, education, and consultative influence, not high-pressure selling. With the freedom to own your territory, you’ll decide where to focus, plan impactful agency visits, bring the right internal teams together, and create an experience that makes partners want to do more business with Assurant.


Relationship Management: Own agency relationships, service quality, retention, and issue resolution. Field Marketing & Support: Build visibility through on-site agency visits, education, outreach, and market presence. Growth: Identify opportunities to deepen partnerships and expand business.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Own and strengthen agency relationships across an assigned multistate territory, engaging agency owners, producers, service representatives, and brokerage leaders.

  • Develop and execute a territory plan that improves agency engagement, service, retention, and overall partnership.

  • Meet with agency partners virtually and in person to understand business needs, provide education, resolve issues, and reinforce Assurant’s value.

  • Support agencies with products, underwriting, systems, claims, onboarding, program changes, contracts, and significant claims or catastrophe events.

  • Identify relationship-based opportunities to consolidate flood business and grow Assurant’s share of each agency’s portfolio using performance data and market insights.

  • Coordinate with internal teams, lead business reviews, maintain accurate agency and contractual information, and represent Assurant at agency meetings and industry events.

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • 3+ years of marketing, sales, strategic client support, or closely related experience.

  • Strong technical capabilities with a variety of computer systems, tools, and technology, along with professional presentation skills. 

  • Strong prioritization, organization, relationship building, sales, and problem-solving skills

  • Self-Starter, motivated, and good judgment to make decisions and work in highly autonomous environment.

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Previous experience in the Insurance industry or Insurance Agency Office is highly desirable but not required. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related preferred but not required.  

How much should I expect to travel?  

  • This is a remote, field-based position supporting a multistate territory with regular travel around 40-50%. ​

  • Candidates should ideally live within or near the assigned territory to support efficient travel. Candidates may be considered if they reside outside of the territory, so long as they can and are willing to travel throughout assigned territory. 

  • Territory Assignment may include: (New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine.) OR (Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, Washington DC, Maryland, Delaware.)

Assurant does not provide a company vehicle. Approved travel expenses and mileage are covered or reimbursed in accordance with company policy.

Pay Range:

$96,700.00 - $161,400.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
