Job Description
The Test Technician is responsible for being a key contributor to our overall testing team. Working both with internal and external customers. This role includes physical setup of dynamometer systems and customer test parts. Test parts are generally automotive in nature but may be test associated with other industries as well. Test technicians work with test engineers to bring testing systems together and support operations. This role requires the ability to successfully manage tasks and assignments in multiple areas. Initiative and ownership of responsibilities are critical to the success of this individual.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Â
Support engineers/customers when needed Â
Setting up test cells Â
Assemble automotive/propulsion systemsÂ
Cleaning/Organizing test cells and facilities Â
Building oil conditioning carts Â
Fabricating and/or machining fixturing Â
Keeping workspace clean (Shop/Trash cans/Fab room) Â
Keeping cells running after shop hours Â
Maintaining shop inventory Â
Support troubleshooting  Â
Other duties as requestedÂ
Assists in supporting the UTAC culture and values (Integrity, Expertise, and Innovation)Â
Qualifications
Education and Skill Requirements:Â
High School degree or equivalent experienceÂ
2+ years of relevant work experience in the automotive (or other propulsion system) industry preferredÂ
Fluency in the English language is requiredÂ
Demonstrated record of driving resultsÂ
Strong problem solving, strategic thinking and analytical skills requiredÂ
Able to relay technical information in a way your audience understandsÂ
Consistently exhibit appropriate attendance habits, working the hours necessary to perform the jobÂ
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, customers, and suppliersÂ
Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications and the ability to become proficient in any systems that we use (Concur, Kronos, etc.)Â
Flexibility to support service activity both off-site and outside of normal working hoursÂ
Organize and maintain efficiency of personal work areaÂ
Working knowledge of the automotive industry preferredÂ
Experience in the vehicle testing and validation industry preferredÂ
Excellent written and verbal communication skills requiredÂ
Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skillsÂ
Able to function as part of a team, with members of varying job levels, and work cooperatively toward team goalsÂ
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, customers and suppliersÂ

Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for traveling between multiple work sites as neededÂ

May require occasional travel (locally, nationally, internationally)Â
