About the Role
The Tool Technician Level 1 will work closely with other Tool Technicians in the assembly and testing of Steelhaus products by utilizing various hand tools and assembly processes. The Tool Technician will support Shipping/Receiving and Quality department.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Protecting their own and others’ health and safety at or in the vicinity of the work site.
- Cooperating with their employer or supervisor by following health and safety rules for the job.
- Using all hazard controls and wearing personal protection equipment designated or provided by the employer or required by the OHS legislation.
- Refraining from causing or participating in harassment and violence.
- Reporting health and safety concerns and conditions to their employer or supervisor.
- Participating in any training provided by the employer.
- Cooperating with any person exercising a duty under the OHS legislation.
- Communication with their colleagues, supervisors, and managers.
General Labor
- Performing routine housekeeping around the shop.
- Manual & mechanical Lifting & moving equipment, materials and supplies.
- Prepping equipment prior to testing.
- Conducting pre-use inspections of mobile equipment.
- Operating pallet jack.
- Setting up and operating overhead crane for lifting.
Assembly
- Preparing tools for building.
- Building basic tools.
- Use of hand tools.
Shipping & Receiving
- Manual & mechanical Loading tools into crates for shipment.
Required Abilities, Knowledge, Experience
- Basic computer skills (MS office).
- Skilled in the use of various hand tools.
- Ability to communicate with well with others.
