Job Description:
The Translator is responsible for providing interpretation and translation services to customers in the hospital and clinic area. Β This position will respond to the needs of the non-English speaking hospital customers/patients. Proprio language service may be utilized to ensure appropriate interpretation of medical terminology. The translator will be familiar with hospital policy and procedures including the registration process, HIPPA, and other essential information that may need to be interpreted/translated. Will perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Education-GED or High School Diploma required. Associate Degree in the medical field preferred.
Experience-minimum 1 year medical interpretation and translation preferred.
Certifications-Certified Medical Interpreter at the time of hire OR successful completion of the Language Line Skills Assessment test within first week of employment plus completion of a 40-hour Certified Medical Interpreter course within the first 90 days of employment required.
