CHI St. Alexius Health manages four CAHs in North Dakota - Elgin, Linton, and Wishek, as well as Mobridge Regional Medical Center in Mobridge, S.D. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Patient Transporter, you will provide essential assistance and transportation for patients and related items across our campus, ensuring a highly customer-sensitive and seamless experience.Every day you will promptly and safely transport inpatients and outpatients to and from various hospital areas. You will be expected to meticulously confirm patient identification, greet and assist in transferring patients, and make conscious observations of patient condition during transport, reporting any issues to appropriate personnel. You will also maintain a clean and organized work area and report any malfunctioning equipment.To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate a strong commitment to patient safety and exceptional customer service for all individuals within our facility. You will be attentive, observant, and capable of performing duties efficiently while upholding the highest standards of care and professionalism.
- Patient Transportation: Safely transports inpatients and emergency room patients to Radiology using stretchers, wheelchairs, or by walking, based on patient care staff direction and patient ambulation abilities
- National Patient Safety Goals Adherence: Actively participates in all National Patient Safety Goals, including proper patient identification, handwashing, and other Joint Commission/CMS mandates
- Equipment Management: Reports any equipment malfunctions or repair needs to appropriate supervisory staff
- Communication & Prioritization: Receives, prioritizes, and responds to incoming calls effectively
- Incident Reporting: Utilizes the CHI incident reporting system for patient injuries, concerns, and equipment/supply failures
- System-Wide Support: Understands and participates in providing coverage for other campuses/sites during staffing shortages as needed

- BLS-CPR certification upon hire
