About this role

Job Description – Welder

 

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • To carry out welding / related works as per the production’s daily schedule.
  • To carry out welding in accordance with the latest / approved drawings, ITP, Weld maps, Welding procedures.
  • After the completion of welding required to carry out, visual checks by oneself and ensuring that the welds are acceptable.
  • If any repair is observed on the welding, required to carry out weld repair as per the approved weld repair procedure.
  • Responsible to provide the welder identification number for each joint before start of welding.
  • To carry out acceptable welding when any new PQR and welder qualification tests are required.
  • Arrange and prepare in advance necessary activities to carry out the assigned works.
  • To work and comply with companies safety rules at all times.
  • To carry out the necessary checks before welding and after welding and ensure compliances.
  • Responsible to comply the set target by Production Supervisor / Production Manager.
  • The Management has right to implement shift work arrangement if deemed necessary based on operational needs and requirements

Activities are to be undertaken in accordance with the Jord ISO system. You are responsible for the technical accuracy of the work you do.

 

 Skills and Experience:

 

  • Possess Certificate in Welding Engineering, Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Metal Fabrication/Tool & Die/Welding), Engineering (Petroleum/Oil/Gas) or equivalent
  • At least three (3) years of working experience in the related field is required for this position
  • Work experience must be in the oil & gas industry or fabrication industry (fabrication of pressure vessels/ column/ heat exchangers)
  • Solid understanding and hands-on work exposure to perform welding processes including GTAW, FCAW, SMAW, SAW and others welding skill
  • Computer literate and proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel skills
  • Ability to read and speak Bahasa Malay and English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong teams in a multi-cultural diverse workplace - being able to deal with people of different nationalities
  • Has the "Can do" attitude to make things happen and manage team effectively
