Overview

 

At Ferrellgas our corporate roles are fully remote, enabling talented professionals to support our field operations from wherever they are. These positions play a critical role in driving business growth, providing strategic and operational support that empowers our teams in the field to deliver exceptional results.The Wholesale Analyst supports the Wholesale team through day-to-day operational execution, customer support, logistics coordination, and account administration activities. This role is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of wholesale propane transactions, supporting customer account management, and coordinating cross-functional activities related to transportation, supply, invoicing, and contract administration. Working closely with Wholesale, Transportation, Supply, Finance, and customers, this position supports the operational side of wholesale propane sales while developing a broader understanding of commercial operations, customer relationship management, and wholesale market activity. The role serves as a key operational partner to the Wholesale team and develops into a knowledgeable operational and commercial backup capable of supporting customer needs, logistics coordination, and business continuity.

Responsibilities

  • Enter, maintain, and update wholesale contracts, pricing agreements, and customer documentation.
  • Process order entry, movement transactions, Bills of Lading (BOLs), and shipment-related documentation.
  • Coordinate transportation and delivery logistics with internal teams, suppliers, carriers, and customers to support timely product movement.
  • Support pricing administration, including pricing updates, rate entry, and transactional accuracy.
  • Process invoices and distribute customer billing documentation accurately and timely.
  • Assist with invoice discrepancies, billing disputes, customer questions, and account-related concerns.
  • Partner with Finance, Credit, and Accounts Receivable to support account reconciliation, collections follow-up, and customer credit matters.
  • Support customer account setup, maintenance, and updates to ensure accurate account information and documentation.
  • Assist with preparing pricing quotes, customer proposals, and wholesale contracts.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and coordinate follow-up to support issue resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Track customer usage, contract performance, and account activity to support operational and commercial decision-making.
  • Maintain and track prospect and customer information to support sales pipeline visibility and account management.
  • Support customer outreach, follow-up communication, and business development activities in partnership with the Wholesale team.
  • Develop working knowledge of wholesale propane supply, logistics, pricing, transportation, and market operations.
  • Serve as an operational and commercial backup to the Wholesale team during periods of absence or increased business demand.
  • Maintain accurate records, reporting, and system updates related to wholesale transactions and customer activity.
  • Identify operational issues, discrepancies, and process improvement opportunities to support efficiency and service levels.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Wholesale, Transportation, Supply, Finance, and customers to support business objectives and service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, or a related field preferred; Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • 1+ years of professional experience in operations, logistics, customer service, account coordination, sales support, or a related business function.
  • Experience supporting customer accounts, order management, invoicing, logistics coordination, or commercial operations preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable supporting customer conversations and gaining exposure to commercial and sales-related activities.
  • Strong analytical skills, follow-through, and accountability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or otherwise authorized to work in the United States.
