About this role

The Assistant Business Development Manager – Pension Sales plays a key role in expanding the company’s retirement business (primarily MPF and ORSO schemes) through agency and intermediary channels. The role focuses on new business acquisition, partner relationship management, sales strategy implementation, and service enhancement, ensuring competitive pension solutions are delivered to individual and corporate clients.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Agency & Partner Relationship Management

  • Enhance and deepen relationships with agency partners and corporate intermediaries to grow MPF/ORSO business.
  • Act as the primary contact for pension-related enquiries, providing timely support, product clarification, and business solutions.
  • Identify opportunities within agency networks (e.g., target segments, corporate prospects) and develop action plans to capture those opportunities.

2. Sales Development, Events & Training

  • Plan and coordinate agency events, roadshows, webinars and training sessions to drive product knowledge, sales skills, and engagement.
  • Design and execute incentive programs, contests and recognition schemes to motivate agents and improve pension sales performance.
  • Deliver clear, compliant presentations on MPF/ORSO products, retirement planning concepts, and competitive positioning.

3. Client Solutions & Service Support

  • Work closely with frontline agents, corporate sales teams and servicing teams to propose tailored pension solutions (e.g., MPF scheme selection, ORSO plan design) based on client needs and risk profiles.
  • Support agents in client meetings and pitches, helping to articulate the value proposition of the company’s pension offerings versus competitors.
  • Ensure high-quality post-sale and ongoing service support, including handling client feedback, coordinating servicing requests, and maintaining strong client relationships to enhance retention.

4. Business Performance & Sales Strategy Execution

  • Monitor business KPIs (e.g., new accounts, assets under management, contribution inflows, agency productivity) and provide regular updates to management.
  • Assist in the formulation and implementation of sales plans, campaigns and channel strategies aligned with overall pension business objectives.
  • Analyze sales data and market feedback to identify gaps, risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to improve performance.

5. Strategic Initiatives & Service Enhancement

  • Support management in rolling out new business initiatives, such as new pension products, digital tools, process improvements or service enhancements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., product, marketing, operations, compliance) to ensure smooth implementation and consistent customer experience.
  • Help benchmark company service standards against market peers and propose ideas to enhance customer satisfaction and market reputation.

6. Culture, Compliance & Professional Standards

  • Demonstrate and promote HKR’s culture of professionalism, integrity, effectiveness, dynamism and customer-centricity in all interactions.
  • Ensure all activities and communications comply with MPF/ORSO regulations, company policies and industry guidelines.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes, market trends and competitor moves in the pension/retirement space.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of experience in financial services, preferably in pension, insurance, or wealth management.
  • Strong understanding of MPF and ORSO schemes, Hong Kong retirement system, and basic investment concepts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, Cantonese and Mandarin is a must.
  • Good relationship management, analytical and problem-solving skills, with a sales-oriented and proactive mindset.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
