About this role
Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented finance professional to manage financial reporting, month-end close activities, and accounting operations for a fast-paced e-commerce business. The role requires strong understanding of accounting standards, reconciliations, reporting controls, audit and compliance and the complexities of e-commerce transactions including settlements, revenue recognition, returns, incentives, and inventory-related accounting.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End & Year-End Close
- Drive end-to-end month-end close process within defined timelines.
- Ensure accurate accounting and closure of books for all business transactions.
- Review journal entries, accruals, provisions, and reclassifications.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for timely closure of open items.
- Monitor close calendars and ensure adherence to timelines.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
- Perform balance sheet reviews and account reconciliations.
- Support preparation of management reports, variance analysis, and financial commentary.
- Assist in statutory audit, internal audit, and financial due diligence requirements.
Controls & Compliance
- Strengthen financial controls and reporting processes.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of supporting schedules and documentation.
- Identify process gaps and drive automation/improvement initiatives.
- Support tax, compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with business, operations, supply chain, tax, treasury, and shared service teams.
- Work closely with auditors, consultants, and external stakeholders when required.
- Support leadership with financial insights and reporting requirements.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- Chartered Accountant.
- 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in financial reporting and month-end close.
- Prior experience in e-commerce, retail, marketplace, or high-volume transaction environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial controls.
- Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar.
- Advanced Excel and reporting skills preferred.
