Child Neurology

The University of Louisville offers great opportunities for a child neurology seeking a career path. The Department of Pediatrics Child Neurology is recruiting a faculty member to join our attending physicians and child neurology fellows.  Our main teaching clinical site at Norton Children’s Hospital is a Level 1 trauma center and serves approximately 55,000 children per year from across the region. 

Opportunities for a great life abound in Louisville, Kentucky.  Candidates must be board certified or eligible in neurology and be eligible to obtain a medical license in the state of Kentucky.

University duties:

  • Teach and supervise medical students, pediatric residents, child neurology residents, and epilepsy fellows in inpatient, outpatient, and EEG/epilepsy program settings.

  • Develop and deliver child neurology curricula, including lectures, case conferences, journal clubs, and board-review sessions.

  • Participate in clinical and translational research on genetic epilepsies in children, contributing to study design, recruitment, data analysis, and dissemination of results.

  • Mentor trainees in scholarly projects and quality-improvement activities related to epilepsy and neurodevelopmental disabilities.

  • Serve on relevant departmental and institutional committees, representing child neurology in education, research, and quality/safety initiatives.

  • Contribute to academic conferences, grand rounds, and CME activities, including organizing sessions and presenting original work.

  • Engage in community/university outreach related to pediatric epilepsy and neurologic disorders, enhancing the division’s educational mission and visibility.
