Mission:

The Autonomous Driving Principal Architect drives the architecture, design, and strategic development of the comprehensive anSWer software product portfolio. This role ensures that system solutions and core technologies remain fully aligned with platform standards, evolving market demands, customer expectations, and the technology roadmap.

The ideal candidate brings over 8 years of dedicated ADAS product development experience, combined with a proven track record in complex problem-solving, system/software architecture design, and successful solution delivery.

Responsibilities:

Platform Architecture & Functional Design

  • Standardization & Leadership: Lead the definition and evolution of anSWer platform standards. Design robust embedded SW architectures aligned with both customer and Valeo requirements while collaborating closely with global R&D platform teams.

  • Architecture Ownership: Design and standardize the system architecture for anSWer products and core functions including Visualisation, Trailer Assistance, Automated Parking, and Autonomous Driving functions utilizing advanced computer vision, deep learning, and multi-sensor fusion (ultrasonics, radar, and lidar).

  • Roadmap & Strategy Contribution: Analyze market trends, technology surveys, and benchmarking reports to actively contribute to the Strategic Product Plan and shape future product feature roadmaps.

  • Next-Gen Technology Evaluation: Perform deep-dive evaluations of cutting-edge technologies, including heterogeneous multicore SoCs/MCUs with dedicated hardware accelerators (NPUs/TPUs), advanced camera architectures, low-latency video transmission protocols, edge-optimized computer vision pipelines, and embedded deep learning models optimized for constrained automotive hardware 

  • Global Collaboration & Representation: Act as primary technical representative for the anSWer R&D platform team at global industry events and internal corporate forums.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain regular, high-level technical engagement with customer engineering teams across both advanced research and active production projects.

  • Innovation & IP Protection: Proactively identify opportunities for patent creation to expand the company's IP portfolio while ensuring strict compliance and non-infringement.

  • Milestone Reviews & Demos: Lead regular architecture and development reviews in accordance with project milestones, and execute high-impact technology demonstrations for key customers and stakeholders.

Education/Training;

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Preferred: A Master’s Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Data Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline is a distinct advantage

Professional Experience:

  • Experience Level: 8+ years of professional engineering experience, specifically demonstrating ADAS Platform SW expertise in Software/System Architecture.

    Global Exposure: A proven track record of working successfully within an international environment.

    Industry Success: Demonstrated success in launching ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) products into production within the automotive sector.
