About the Role
We are looking for a highly driven and data-centric Collections Strategy Leader to build and scale next-generation collections capabilities across our digital lending portfolios. The role will be responsible for driving portfolio performance through advanced analytics, customer segmentation, digital collections, AI-driven decisioning, automation, and innovative recovery strategies.
The ideal candidate should possess strong experience in Fintech, Digital Lending, Personal Loans, Consumer Lending, BNPL, Credit Cards, or NBFC collections environments and have demonstrated success in improving collection performance through strategic interventions and digital-first approaches.
Key Responsibilities
Collections Strategy & Portfolio Optimization
- Own end-to-end collections strategy across Pre-Due, Regular, Early Delinquency, Mid Delinquency, Late Delinquency, Recovery, and Written-Off portfolios.
- Develop and continuously optimize customer treatment strategies across DPD buckets.
- Drive portfolio segmentation using behavioral, risk, bureau, propensity-to-pay, and engagement parameters.
- Monitor and improve key metrics including Resolution Rate, Roll Rate, Flow Rate, Recovery Rate, Penetration, and Cost-to-Collect.
Digital Collections & Customer Engagement
- Design and execute digital collection journeys across WhatsApp, SMS, Email, IVR, Push Notifications, RCS, Voice Bots, and Payment Links.
- Create personalized customer communication strategies based on customer cohorts and repayment behavior.
- Drive self-cure strategies and digital-first collections to reduce dependency on manual calling and field collections.
- Improve digital payment conversion through experimentation and continuous optimization.
Data Analytics & Strategy Execution
- Analyze large portfolio datasets to identify collection opportunities and delinquency trends.
- Conduct A/B testing and champion-challenger experiments for collection campaigns.
- Develop actionable insights using customer behavior, payment history, bureau data, and engagement patterns.
- Work closely with Data Science teams to build predictive models for roll-rate prediction, payment propensity, and recovery optimization.
AI, Automation & Innovation
- Lead implementation of AI-driven collections strategies including:
- Predictive Dialing
- AI Voice Bots
- Conversational AI
- Propensity Models
- Dynamic Segmentation
- Next Best Action Frameworks
- Drive automation across collection workflows to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and fintech innovations to improve collections outcomes.
Agency & Recovery Strategy
- Design allocation frameworks across agencies and collection channels.
- Develop performance scorecards and incentive models for collection partners.
- Optimize agency productivity through data-driven allocation and governance frameworks.
- Build differentiated treatment strategies for recovery and written-off portfolios.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Risk, Data Science, Operations, Customer Experience, Technology, and Compliance teams.
- Translate business objectives into scalable collection strategies.
- Drive rapid execution in an agile fintech environment.
