About the Role 

At Alcoa’s Huntly Mine, the Emergency Services Supervisor leads the Emergency Services team to support safe, prepared and effective emergency response across site operations. 

In this role, you will provide practical emergency services advice to operational areas and senior leadership, oversee emergency equipment readiness, coordinate the on-site emergency response team and support WA Operations in key execution strategies. You will also analyse incidents, support preventative actions and maintain strong relationships with relevant government agencies to help ensure regulatory compliance. 

  • Lead the planning, coordination and execution of emergency response operations at Huntly Mine. 

  • Mentor and support Emergency Services Officers, building capability and a positive team environment. 

  • Maintain emergency equipment, staffing readiness and operational preparedness across the site. 

  • Use strong communication, computer and problem-solving skills to support effective decision making. 

  • Work independently under minimal supervision and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.

What you can bring to the role 

  • Certificate IV in Health Care (HLT41115), with relevant post-course experience. 

  • Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue (RII30715) or Certificate III in Public Safety – Firefighting and Emergency Operations (PUA30613). 

  • Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing (HLTPAT005). 

  • Experience in first aid, health care, emergency services or a similar operational environment. 

  • Current police clearance, HR-B licence and the ability to hold or complete Schedule 26 – Statutory Supervisor accreditation, with Alcoa support provided. 

  • Additional qualifications or experience within security will be well regarded.

About the Location

Huntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world’s second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa’s Pinjarra alumina refinery.
