About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to support and strengthen our people compliance framework across Mexico. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with Mexican labor laws, corporate governance standards, occupational health and safety requirements, and internal HR policies.

The successful candidate will serve as a key liaison between HR, Legal, Compliance, Health & Security, Facilities, and government authorities, helping mitigate organizational risk while fostering a compliant, safe, and ethical workplace. This position plays a critical role in labor law compliance, OFAC screening processes, workplace committees, emergency response preparedness, and regulatory audits.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure compliance with Mexican labor laws, including LFT, IMSS, INFONAVIT, and other regulatory requirements, while supporting audits and labor inspections.
  • Serve as the primary HR compliance partner in Mexico, collaborating with HR, Legal, Compliance, Health & Security, and business leaders to mitigate risk and maintain governance standards.
  • Manage OFAC and sanctions screening processes for employees, contractors, and vendors, including investigations, documentation, and escalations.
  • Coordinate occupational health and safety programs, mandatory committees (including NOM-035), and emergency response brigades to maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
  • Deliver compliance training, monitor key metrics, prepare executive reports, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across HR compliance and workplace safety programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR Compliance, Labor Relations, Employment Law, or a related HR function.
  • Strong knowledge of Mexican labor legislation, including LFT, IMSS, and INFONAVIT requirements.
  • Experience supporting audits, compliance reviews, investigations, and regulatory processes.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills, with intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
