Position Overview & Purpose
The Field Services Technician will be the face of LiveOak Fiber to each of our customers as you install and maintain their new service. This role is key to our success in the market, and we are seeking the very best to staff these positions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Installs and repairs Active and Passive Optical Network systems in compliance with company technical standards from consumer service to exterior drop location.
Install interior wiring
Connect peripheral equipment
Train customers on proper use of equipment
Understand/apply FCC and NESC technical standards
Maintain professional appearance and behavior at all times
Maintain excellent attendance
Responsible for motor vehicle per company policy including equipment & tool inventory, vehicle security and vehicle maintenance
Performs network troubleshooting including ping test, trace routes and speed test
Other duties as assigned - which may include training other employees
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong oral and written communications skills
Some working knowledge of Fiber based Field Operations
Process oriented, automation forward thinker
Basic Qualifications & Competencies
Able to interact with customers to present technical information to a non-technical audience
Able to work independently
Able to accurately measure distances using tapes and other measuring devices
Able to accurately maintain records, logs, reports, work orders, etc.
Able to handle escalations and time-critical issues
Able to read street maps
Able to work flexible hours as required, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts
Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications & Competencies
2 years’ experience as a field service technician
Electrical or industry certifications
You LOVE field services
Physical Demands & Working Environment
Walking- up to 40%

Work environment- indoors and outdoors
