We're seeking a compassionate and energetic Fitness Instructor to help Residents thrive through fitness, wellness, and movement-based experiences.

Position Summary

The Fitness Instructor implements fitness, wellness, and health programs for Residents of the Marlin and Doris Thomas Memory Center. Through group classes, personal training, wellness coaching, and individualized exercise plans, you'll help Residents maintain physical function, enhance well-being, and enjoy meaningful moments of success and connection.

Compensation & Schedule

• Starting at $22.00/hour
• Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM, with opportunities for flexible scheduling

What You'll Do

Resident Fitness & Wellness

• Plan and lead group fitness classes tailored to Residents living with dementia and related neurological conditions.
• Conduct personal training sessions and individualized wellness coaching.
• Perform fitness and health-related screenings and assessments.
• Develop personalized exercise plans that support mobility, independence, and overall well-being.
• Maintain and monitor fitness equipment and wellness spaces.

Resident Engagement & Education

• Assist with wellness programs, workshops, and special events.
• Create engaging experiences that encourage participation, social connection, and daily activity.
• Lead workshops, showcases, and small-group wellness sessions.

Team Collaboration

• Partner with interdisciplinary Team Members to support Resident wellness.
• Assist with scheduling fitness and wellness services.
• Support the Willow Valley Communities Corporate Wellness Program.
• Communicate fitness and wellness initiatives with leadership and other departments.
• Report concerns and improvement opportunities to the Movement Manager.
• Participate in problem-solving and service recovery efforts related to wellness programming.

Qualifications

Required

• Fitness Instructor certification.
• Personal Training certification.
• Experience providing group exercise instruction and/or personal training.
• Experience developing and implementing wellness or fitness programming.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
• Passion for helping older adults achieve their highest level of wellness.

Preferred

• Experience in senior living, healthcare, wellness, or community fitness settings.
• Experience supporting individuals living with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other cognitive conditions.
• Understanding of person-directed care and strengths-based wellness approaches.
