Pay Rate: 18.27 - 18.67 per hour DOE
Work Schedule: 6:00 pm - 2:30am Rotating Weekends
Shift Differential: 9% 2nd Shift and 8% Weekend

Job Description:

Vitalant is seeking a Laboratory Technician dedicated to making a positive difference. Your impact as a Laboratory Technician is vital. Support Vitalant's life-saving mission by operating within the laboratory handling responsibilities that include component production, labeling, record reviewing and data entry.

What to Expect

Pay Rate: 18.27 - 18.67 per hour DOE
Work Schedule: 6:00 pm - 2:30am Rotating Weekends
Shift Differential: 9% 2nd Shift and 8% Weekend

Training: Must be able to attend during the day 6:30 am - 3:00 pm either Sunday - Thursday or Tuesday - Saturday for up to 12 weeks.

As a Laboratory Technician, you'll get to

• Maintain accurate data records and documentation.
• Prepare blood components through processes such as centrifugation, separation, freezing, thawing, washing, storage, sterile docking, transformation, and filtration.
• Ensure product quality, volume, appearance, and time requirements.
• Conduct labeling for routine and special components and implement quarantine procedures.
• High School or GED required
• No Experience Required

SKILLS/ABILITIES

Must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be detail oriented and possess strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.

Must be able to maintain donor, patient and employee confidentiality.

Must possess basic keyboarding skills and the ability to handle and operate laboratory equipment.

Must be able to work flexible shifts and overtime when necessary.
