YOUR IMPACT STARTS HERE
Victaulic is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Trainer to join our Rock Island, TN team. In this role, you'll evaluate employees to identify and address weaknesses in production skills, and conduct training tailored to individual skill levels. You'll work closely with shop employees to develop new skills in the manufacturing process, including coating, and present technical data and training requirements. Encouraging employees to pursue training and identifying potential candidates for progression will be key aspects of your role. You'll track employee success and progress, assist in communicating training programs, and prepare and deliver manufacturing training sessions, measuring their effectiveness based on success rates. WHAT YOU'LL BUILD & OWN
Employee Development & Training Delivery
- Evaluate employees and identify weaknesses in production skills
- Identify and conduct training according to individual skill levels
- Work alongside shop employees to develop new skills in the manufacturing process, including coating
- Present technical data and training requirements through PowerPoint presentations and short videos
- Encourage employees to pursue training and identify potential candidates for progression
- Track employee success and progress
- Assist in the rollout and communication of all training programs on a timely basis
- Prepare and deliver manufacturing training sessions, measuring effectiveness based on success rate
- Train and help develop employees on the operation of specific machinery
- Teach welding skills in carbon and stainless plate, and pipe welding using GMAW-P and GTAW
- Support and help develop robotic welding programming
Onboarding & Process Documentation
- Lead onboarding and new employee training
- Build processes and establish documents — testing, checklists, and procedures (e.g., Day 1, Week 1, Month 1)
- Lead training initiatives and roll them out to teams
- Develop and maintain Procedures, JSAs, LOTO, and Method Sheets (e.g., cutting sequence, truck loading log, IPC loading log)
- Create engaging content and videos of fabrication processes
- Build training schedules/templates and Mendix trainings
- Review and train on the cross-training matrix (HDPE/cut-grooving, uncommon tools)
- Coordinate crane and forklift training schedules (trainer, location, date) across facilities
- Support facility standardizations
Certifications & Safety
- Train and maintain records for forklift and crane certifications
- Assist with the FEM/5S program as needed
- Support FEM/Safety training across all facilities
Auditing & Validation
- Validate Procedures, JSAs, LOTO, and Method Sheets
- Validate checklists, binders, and groove inspections
- Validate that processes and procedures are being followed (e.g., field boxes, labeling, pipe markings)
- Validate standard layouts against management specs (tool boxes, floor markings, tools, shadow boards)
- Serve as process auditor
WHAT YOU BRING
- High School Diploma
- Experience in a manufacturing/steel fabrication environment
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently, efficiently, self-motivated, and detail oriented
WHAT SETS YOU APART
- Computer literacy of Microsoft Windows software, such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of arc welding processes for carbon, stainless, and alloy metals
- Familiarity with liquid and powder type coatings
- Familiarity with ASTM specifications, AWWA standards, and AWS/ASME welding codes
- Good understanding of shop math (fraction to decimal) and the ability to read a tape measure and measuring tools (caliper, micrometers)
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
- Good problem-solving capabilities
- Robotic welding experience with programming
