Founded in 1887, Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center is a 318-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in downtown Los Angeles, California. Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Master Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate early childhood education environment that supports the cognitive, social-emotional, language, physical, and creative development of infants, toddlers, and preschool children. This position is ideal for an experienced early childhood educator who is passionate about fostering school readiness, creating engaging learning experiences, and helping young children thrive.

Every day, you will develop and implement high-quality early learning curriculum and age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with child development best practices and California licensing requirements. You will create enriching classroom experiences that promote curiosity, exploration, social skills, and kindergarten readiness while supporting each child's individual learning journey.

You will also build strong partnerships with parents and families, maintain accurate child assessments and program documentation, and collaborate with fellow educators to ensure excellence in our early care and education programs. As a classroom leader, you will help maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports the success of children, families, and staff.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate expertise in early childhood development, curriculum planning, classroom management, child assessment, and family engagement. You will bring a passion for high-quality early learning, strong communication skills, and a commitment to supporting the growth and development of young children.

As Master Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum, lesson plans, and classroom activities for infants, toddlers, and preschool children.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction that supports children's cognitive, social-emotional, language, and physical development while promoting school readiness.
  • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that encourages positive behavior and lifelong learning.
  • Conduct child observations, assessments, and developmental screenings, while maintaining accurate records, portfolios, attendance, and required documentation.
  • Build strong partnerships with families and collaborate with teaching staff to ensure compliance with licensing, health and safety standards, and program quality goals.
 

Our licensed early learning center operates year-round, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., delivering exceptional care and education that supports children's development and prepares them for lifelong learning.

Job Requirements

Required

  • 2 years of experience working with children birth to five years.
  • BA in Child Development or a minimum of 24 Child Development units required.
  • Current CPR and First Aid training required
  • Bilingual English/Spanish language skills preferred. 
  • California Department of Education Teacher Permit preferred
