About this role

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our mechanical, electrical, and plumbing practice in our Fort Worth, TX office. As Mechanical Engineer, you will support facility and building systems projects by applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria while continuing to grow your technical capabilities and progress toward professional registration.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform heat load calculations and related engineering analyses
  • Support ductwork layout and sizing and HVAC equipment selection
  • Draft technical reports and support project documentation
  • Provide cost estimation support for assigned projects
  • Support design of building controls and DDC systems
  • Lay out and size basic plumbing water and drainage systems
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Deliver quality work within established project scope, schedules, and design guidelines

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related 
  • EIT
  • 1+ years of related experience
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE codes and standards and applicable building, mechanical, and plumbing codes
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
