Sasco Contractors Ltd, serves the industrial, commercial, and institutional markets all over BC, specializing in distribution upgrades, commercial one-off new builds, tenant improvements, server rooms and data communication in "mission critical environments", complicated fire alarm upgrades, EV car chargers, and electrical service and maintenance.


We work in a fast-paced, unionized environment, local to Burnaby and surrounding areas, with other offices in Kamloops & Vancouver Island. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our Project Managers and Superintendent by handling a variety of administrative tasks essential for the seamless completion of projects. Additionally, this role involves the efficient coordination of service work orders and ensuring the provision of exceptional customer service. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and confident communicating with internal stakeholders and customers, and who approaches work with reliability and strong follow‑through.


POSITION DETAILS:

  • This is a 12-month contract position to cover a maternity leave with the possibility of a 6-month extension.
  • This is a part-time, on-site role, requiring 16-24 hours per week, typically worked Tuesday through Thursday, up to 8 hours per day.
  • Days in the office may be adjusted based on operational and role requirements.



WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Work shall include but not necessarily be bound by the following:



SERVICE:

  • Respond to customer service requests through telephone and email.
  • Assist with putting together quotes for service work.
  • Performs basic estimating tasks and present smaller quotes for PM review.
  • Set up new customers and maintain customer records, including negotiation of deposit amounts.
  • Administer the work order process from dispatch to invoices.
  • Administer customer surveys and promote the after-sales experience of customers.



PROJECTS:

  • Project Initiation: Maintain the data in the Quote Book, assist with the completion of pre-qualification and tender documentation, ACCUBID setup and assist with counts and take-offs as required, coordinate the signing of contracts, apply for bonding, apply for union funding
  • Project Planning: Setup of the jobs in software applications, issue purchase orders to suppliers, distribute shop drawings, organize and print manuals; setup e-procurement systems, and obtain WCB, Certificate of Insurance and signed Health & Safety Agreements are provided by subcontractors.
  • Project Execution: Ensure compliance reports have been completed, administer change requests, prepare billings, occasional site visits
  • Project Monitoring: Material tracking, track the status of permits and renew where applicable, update changes in estimates, run, and review project reports.
  • Project Closure: Prepare close-out documentation, arrange final permits, confirm no outstanding items prior to notifying accounting to close the job.



OTHER:

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Participate in the weekly department meetings.
  • Conduct occasional site visits and material pickup as needed.
  • Work with the Internal Operations Manager to organize training sessions.
  • Coordinate office and field safety related documents.
  • Maintain inventory of PPE (gloves, ear plugs, glasses first aid kits and Sasco clothing)
  • Carry out and document monthly inspections of the office and shop vehicle.
  • Coordinate warehouse and tool management activities with the superintendent’s support.
  • Receive material and supply deliveries.
  • Oversee the coordination of office cleaning tasks.
  • Procure and manage inventory of office supplies.
  • Assist in setting up employee tablets and phones.
  • Facilitate the process of obtaining government clearances.


WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a technical support position for either electrical installations or the supply of electrical equipment is an asset.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a construction environment is an asset.
  • Proficiency in SiteMax, BuildOps, BlueBeam and Procore are an asset
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related tools (Outlook, SharePoint, Forms and Lists).
  • Strong communication, coordination, follow up and task tracking abilities.
  • Attention to detail with high accuracy, analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage time pressure, shifting priorities, and multiple tasks
  • Strong organizational and prioritization abilities
  • Openness to learning and improving processes
  • Class 5 driver’s license in good standing with the Province of BC.
