About this role

The position was mainly created to support the Robotics field of ASSO Group. The candidate will assist in the implementation of offshore projects. Installation, troubleshooting and repairing of electromechanical assemblies and systems are part of the day-to-day tasks. Qualified candidates will be keen to develop troubleshooting and problem-solving skills and keen to participate in offshore projects on a rotation basis (2 months each rotation / 3 rotations per year), as part of the offshore project team.

This role is a combination of Onshore and Offshore Responsibilities:

Onshore

  • Assist the Onshore electronics team with the day-to-day tasks,
  • Conduct routine inspections, maintenance and repairs of electromechanical equipment including power distribution systems, control systems, video equipment, Subsea connectors, Subsea cables, telemetry instruments, sensors, and optical equipment,
  • Assist with the mobilization and demobilization of ROV equipment.

Offshore

  • Conduct pre-dive checks and post-dive maintenance on ROV electrical systems to ensure operational readiness;
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults and issues efficiently to minimize downtime during offshore operations;
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to resolve technical problems promptly;
  • Provide detailed feedback and prepare technical reports in English ;
  • Report and collaborate with Offshore Supervisors and Offshore Managers;
  • Assist with general hands-on tasks as per project requests;
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and participate in safety meetings and risk assessments.

  • A higher degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering;
  • 1-3 years proven experience in troubleshooting electronic devices;
  • Experience in Fiber equipment such as Fusion Splicers and Optical Measuring systems (i.e. OTDR);
  • Experience in  Serial/Ethernet Communication protocols and devices (i.e. RS232, RS485);
  • Experience in  video multiplexing systems (i.e Video Matrix, Quad , KVM ) will be considered as an advantage;
  • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills in English language;
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills operating with high level of responsibility and independency;
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills;
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and respond to emergency situations effectively;
  • Willingness to travel and work on a rotational basis.
